Pop-K n-grams

The picture shows the dynamic in the use of some of the favorite pop-complexity expressions (“Quark and the Jaguar”, “deterministic chaos”,” autopoiesis”, “negentropy”) in English books over a period of about 60 years, thanks to Google’s beautiful Ngram Viewer.

Notice that most of this predates the “complexity for managers” mania, which entered the mainstream towards the end of the 1990’s.
